Chez jules Chester review

Last night we were invited to Chez Jules Chester. The cheshire husband had a presentation to do for his MBA at Chester uni , so as the saying goes we killed two birds with one stone & it had been a while since we had a date night.

Chez Jules is situated close to Chester cathedral and chester town hall, it’s very easy to find its on north gate street if you know the area. It turns out its the old Chester fire station which only closed in 1971.

Both of us had never been before, in fact I’ve never been to a French restaurant, so didn’t know what to expect but we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was friendly warm and welcoming.

We were invited to the  Gastronomique Tasting Evening , which offers 5 courses for just £27.50. This sensational price includes an amuse bouche on arrival , it was really busy the ground floor was ! Here is our menu for the night which was just out of this world – here is a link to last nights menu

The food its self was amazing and my little taste buds worked overtime ,I’d not eaten since 1pm so I had worked up quite an appetite , we sat down to eat 7.30 and we left at 10.30, so it was a long relaxed meal which I guess is the French way.  The atmosphere was lovely with a pianist playing soft background music to set the mood.

Here are some photos of the food enjoy.

  1. So excited to read your review as we are heading to Chez Jules on Thursday. Like you I have never been to a French restaurant before so unsure what to expect but the food looks amazing. We are going to their cinema night where you get a meal and then they show a French film after with popcorn. I cannot wait.
