When I got the invite to river cottage I was a little surprised – in a good way. I’m by no means a food blogger but I do get to go to lots of restaurants to review. So I guess its a match made in heaven.
The thought of the long drive from Cheshire to Devonshire if I’m honest terrified me. Luckily id managed to arrange to meet some blogging friends, we stayed in a fab little B&B which was about 10 minuets from river
cottage. The http://WEYCROFTMILLHOUSE.COM B&B was fantastic very friendly and the breakfast was amazing.
So once I had arrived it was time to leave again.
When we arrived it was a bit of a rush, but wow what an arrival it was .
Once we had all warmed up with a cup of tea, it was time to have a wonder around the grounds.
We then all sat down and were showed how to brine meat. I was sat at the back but i meant i got some rubbish photo of the meat.
We all got to sample some of the meat which was so tasty – did you know you can replace some of the water with GIN when brining chicken.
We then got to go into the yert which was so cosy after been out in the rain. Once inside the yert we got to put our hand into a random box and we had to guess what was inside – i think i got 9/11 which wasnt to bad.
Then it was time for the food and well it was’nt very christmassy as we had all expected but thats because the food is all locally sorced and its all seasonal so well the menu was just amazing.
They say a photo says a thousand words , so ill let the photos of the food do the talking and melt your taste buds
